Frogs can be great pets as long as you keep a few things in mind: They can be a lot of work; they require regular care; and they can live a long time. If you think that you might want to get your own pet frog, click on the links below and learn what you need to know. Also, in the interest of frog conservation please do not purchase "wild caught" frogs.
You might want to try raising some tadpoles! It is not a lot of work but it is a whole lot of FUN!! Maybe you could find some tadpoles in a pond or a creek, but be sure you get permission from your parents before you go tadpole hunting. See the links below to find out how to care for tadpoles, but keep this important fact in mind or you will accidently kill your tadpoles: YOU CANNOT USE REGULAR TAP WATER FOR YOUR TADPOLES OR FOR ANY CREATURE THAT LIVES IN FRESH WATER UNLESS YOU PRETREAT THE WATER WITH A WATER CONDITIONER THAT REMOVES ALL TOXIC CHLORINE, CHLORAMINES, AND HEAVY METALS FROM THE WATER BEFORE YOU PUT YOUR CREATURES IN IT! You can find chlorine/chloramine removal products at most Super Walmart stores, pet stores or aquarium supply stores. People may tell you that you can just let the tap water set out overnight but leetting water set out overnight aor even for a few days will not remove the chloramines from the water and your tadpoes will die.
